Summertime Hair Tips

Summertime is usually harder on most peoples hair because of the sunlight,swimming,sweating and washing your hair more often. Which can cause dryness and breakage

Swimming

  1. If you think of your hair as a sponge it will absorb whatever gets on it first, so if you wet your hair with water or put a leave in condinter in it first it will absorb less chlorine or salt. After swimming you should shampoo and condition your hair. I really prefer Redken hair cleansing cream it is a clarifying shampoo for all hair types. If your hair turns green or becomes very shiny you probably have a build up of chlorine on your hair. We recommend using Malibu Crystals to help remove the build up. This can be done in salon or at home.
  2. Try different styles to keep your hair and have less exposure to the sun. High ponytails is always a classic look or try some fun braids. You can even take a ponytail and loop your pony through for a quick easy look or try taking your braids and separating it and making it fuller. You can dress up your style with some fun scrunchies or decorative hair ties.
  3. Make sure your using a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner in the summer so your hair doesn’t dry out. Purelogoy hydrate is great for medium the thick hair. Hydrate sheer is also good for finer hair without weighing it down. If frizz is your problem try Redken Frizz dismiss to control the frizz. Once a week a hair mask helps give your hair moisture and shine. It feels like giving your hair a big drink of water.
  4. Trimming your hair on a regularly helps keep your hair healthy and have less breakage. We like to call it a dusting of the ends to help promote healthy hair. We recommend every 6-8 weeks
